Tutorial vs Created Work

Maybe someone could explain this situation...

I went through the tutorial for the lamp, using its suggestions for colour and reflections in a CG environment I created, with floor acting as a mirror. All worked except for that. The mirror was re-imported from the modeler. No luck. finally, the mirror from the tutorial was imported. Bingo!

Why would that happen?

Is it one of ours or EIs?

Impossible to specify. Electric Image changed the tutorials they were making available as support for EI and the toolkit, and all tutorials I saved are stored in the same folder.

I thought Electric Image and the Toolkit were similar in architecture. I need to know how to create the mirror effect. I followed suggestions by Paul, but nothing worked.

What do you suggest?

Should anyone read this response, the tutorial is part of the support for the Universe.

I hope to get a response from this enquiry, but if not, I will ask again when time is critical to completing the project.

I really haven't looked at the EI tuts for a long time...but some of the newer ones look cool.

Could you post a test render from the tutorial? We're too visual for our own good sometimes and pictures help us form our thoughts.:p
